Oh my - this was one of my favorite sci-fi classics in video gaming. Freespace 2 was even better too, and enjoys today an active mod community that's churned out a lot of custom content for new sci-fi franchises.

The sight of those huge hulking and lumbering capital ships in battle with capital lasers slicing through the hulls, and you're the pilot of a snub fighter weaving in and out of the warring giants. Just incredible.:)

One of the most fun aspects of tertiary life BTW are the extra-Curricular and campus activities. Some degree of it exists at the Polytechnics where you've quite a bit of autonomy to run your events, but it gets even better at University. You get the chance to be in even more profile groups for instance, especially of the issue advocacy types.

For those Poly students eyeing the local Universities, staying on campus will be one of your most memorable and enjoyable experiences. Myself, I was a hostelite for all my undergraduate years, and I was in the Student Union, publisher for one magazine, editor and writer for several others, captain for a few debating teams, was in organizing comm for a few events, conductor for a choir etc.

I remember those days better than all the stuff I studied.:)

Wow, Jonathan - that's an old game!

ZX: well, horror-esque first-persons sell well because there's something just lethally combustible when you mix up first-person perspectives, horror and a lot of blood and guts.

Myself though, I couldn't play these games either though only because FPSes give me vertigo.:)
