One of the earliest games that I ever remember playing is Descent: Freespace (the others being Swat 3, MechWarriors 4, and The Sims). A space combat flight simulator developed by Volition Inc. (the company responsible for Red Faction and Saints Row), it was a (to me) rather impressive game for its time (1998).
The graphics aren’t too [...]

American McGee’s Alice is a thrid-person action game developed by Rogue Entertainment, and published by Electronic Arts. Featuring an older, more cynical and macabre incarnation of Alice, it is most definitely unlike the classic novel written in 1865 by English author Charles Lutwidge Dodgson, or more famously known by his pseudonym Lewis Carroll.
Set years after [...]

an, when the producers of F.E.A.R. promised to “get under the player’s skin”, they weren’t kidding. F.E.A.R. has got to be THE most creepy horror FPS that I’ve ever played. The main kicking point of F.E.A.R. is that unlike most horror games, monsters don’t suddenly pop out at you from the shadows. Instead, the game implements the [...]

Well, I’ll say, that was interesting, at the very least. Apparently, the GCA this year’s quite a bit smaller than it had been last year. Considering that there’d been two other Game Conventions held in other parts of the world, along with the economic downturn, several companies held back from taking part in the GCA.
Still, [...]

What do some companies like Commodore Gaming, Alienware, and the Acer Predator have in common? That’s right. They all produce lines of high-end purpose-built gaming computers (well, except the Predator, it’s just a gaming computer). These computers are outfitted with devices that are normally never found in conventional computers. Examples include a liquid cooling system, [...]

Excerpt from the World of Warcraft community site:
“While the attention of the Horde and Alliance remained fixed upon Northrend, an ancient evil has been lying dormant within Deepholm, the domain of earth in the Elemental Plane. Hidden away in a secluded sanctuary, the corrupted Dragon Aspect Deathwing has waited, recovering from the wounds of his [...]

…Been quite a busy week… Finally got the time to collect my thoughts and update the blog. Still got some assignments unfinished though, so I’d better make this quick.
The classic series Ghostbusters is back, in the form of a game. Taking control of the unnamed “Rookie”, the new Experimental Equipment Technician, you go ghost hunting [...]

Considering that Overlord 2 had just come out at the beginning of this month, I’d thought I’d go back and revisit the prequel. One thing that struck me as strangely fun was how you could just smack most characters in the game with abandon until they kick it. Be they innocent bystanders, your ever-loyal minions [...]

Man, last night was absolutely wild. Can’t wait for next year, if Video Games Live is really coming back. The only other video game concert I attended was the Play! A Video Game Symphony concert that popped up in Singapore two years back. Unfortunately, the chances of them making another round-the-world trip back to Singapore [...]
