While Dissidia is still taking part of my life away, rendering me too busy to do anything else other than watching Scrubs and History’s Strongest Disciple Kenichi at home, I actually managed to go out today, well actually, I was asked to go out, to the magazine company I’m gonna do reviews for.
The two of us and Dr. Foo arrived early by Taxi. I guess Dr. Foo is really the kind of man who keeps his watch on the top of his head, unlike me, who is 90% late except for the miraculous 10%. I wonder how I managed to survive this long without getting kicked out of school.

We got in, early, yeah there was pretty much nobody there, and me and zuyi started to notice the presence of a really strange lady… Well she is rather cute but she looks like a misfit. Actually, I thought that the employees here dont get much sleep, so I kind of pitied her.

Well it turns out that she was the mascot for F.E.A.R 2, cosplaying as Alma, the ghost… thing. Well after I got freaked out watching Keith play it, and the fact that I felt that Keith’s F.E.A.R box’s Alma kept staring at me in a really… disturbing way. I don’t think I’ll ever play the game…
But back to the point, it was fun. I tried out Sacred 2, and it was really visual. And when I say visual, I meant real visual. The graphics were nice, the controls can do with a little help, but it’s like an XBox version of Diablo 2, so I don’t see what’s so wrong.

It was a chore trying to play a game that feels like an MMORPG in XBox though, maybe I can do with a little more practice, but I guess not having a 360 will impede with the training in that anyway.
That being said, I need to comment on the gamegirls they have on the event. Sure they’re cute, sure they’re friendly (or were they?) sure they’re bubbly (only towards the camera) but do they play games? No. For the simple reason being game-playing girls tend to look average.
That kind of defeated the whole purpose actually, but no matter, they still look cute, and I’m a shy shy person around good looking girls, so I just sort of scooted up into a corner while taking photos, and throughout the event didnt really make much of an impression.
But then again, with my size, that’s impossible.

The games that were shown at the talk were rather impressive. I guess they mainly do Strategy and War games kind. I’m really looking forward to playing any of Tom Clancy’s games. The classic Rainbow Six was awesome as heck. Now I have 3 to look forward to: Endwar, HAWX and… I forgot the last one.
The other one that caught my eye was Damnation, it looked pretty cool until I realized it involves bullet time yet once again, GUN already did very good bullet time with their Quickdraw system, until I realized I can abuse it and use it for every single gunfight. Not only does he have bullet time, he has Snake Eye.
Okay its called Spirit Eye, he can look through walls, look up far, look here look there, to plan his road and fights and stuff. I think it’s pretty neat, for the main reason I don’t have a PS3 to play MGS4 in. I think its a good idea.

We then ended off with some snacks here and there, and boo, there she was again, Alma scaring the heck out of me in the main hallway. I didn’t dare to proceed forward because of severe chills and the fact that my hands were freezing from inside the talk room didnt help. It just added to the fact that I was going to piss in my pants.
We all had some snacks and while trying to get the best angle so that I don’t feel watched by Alma and not to look at her in the eye in case I got possessed, we sort of left early to head back to school when there were still quite a number of people in the event. Said goodbye to the organizer that invited us and we just left.
I didn’t say goodbye to Alma though, and neither to the game girls that were too busy admiring the guys from Straits Times. They probably think the reporter looked hot. Sure he had abs.
If I was not wrong, she was supposed to go around in Orchard wearing that costume. Barefoot yes. But I think she’s doing a great job freaking people out just by existing.
Good job Alma, and hopefully I don’t meet you again.
