Economic crisis? No worries for the game industry

Read an article recently on the internet about the game industry and the economic crisis in the world now. In the article, it states that the industry is not suffering from the crisis, but rather thriving on it.

The main reason for these unhindered by the economic crisis video game industry sales is that during hard times, people often turn to entertainment in search of comforting and something to put their mind off the hardships of life. In addition, according to Ron Meiners, director of community for the Hollywood Interactive Group, the fact that video games now allow a higher level of human interactivity, has also played a major role in enticing them to purchase such products.”

 By no means do I embrace the economic crisis when I post this, just felt that it was an interesting way to look things from the industry’s POV. I also read some reports on how some game companies are feeling the pinch from the crisis so take what you read with a grain of salt. Till next time.
