Better late than never, a quick entry on the Alice in Action 2008 finals, held by the IIT school for secondary schools from across Singapore. This was my first experience of the yearly Alice competition and having been asked to be a judge, I got to see the competition close-up. There had been some strong debate between the judges before we arrived at the final list of 5 teams and none of the teams disappointed in the final itself.
Split into two parts, project demostration and Alice quiz, the final was a close run thing, with the strength of Zhonghua Secondary School’s presentation doing just enough to hold off Raffles Institution’s strong quiz showing. So congratulations to Zhonghua Secondary and well done to all the other finalists.
Also congratulations to Tan Bing and the team from IIT/GET for organising the event and for Dr Foo for being chief judge. A job well done all round!
