Natural Funativity Theory

Yo! Wee You here again. ’sup this week? Well, we year 2s are supposed to do up a journal of some sort, after reading an article called the “Natural Funativity Theory”, written by Noal Falstein. Here’s the link:

It’s a 3 page article, talking about “what is fun”. Kinda cool an article, breaking down fun into 3 main areas: physical, mental, and social. To me, fun was a weird feeling: you can’t define it, but you sure know it when you are having it. The article provided some sort of insight this time round, though.

The interesting part about this article is how it ties in fun with our ancestors, providing examples and logical arguements. For eg, he mentioned that human being’s “primary urge (being) the surival instinct”, and explained how “It’s not surprising that games, and in fact most of entertainment, use themes of survival to similarly capture the attention of players.”

Kay I shan’t spoil it anymore. Have fun reading the article!
